On April 1, 2026, the CISM Student Scientific Board successfully organized the International Student Scientific Conference titled “Modern Challenges and Perspectives of Biomedical Research Development.” The event brought together young researchers, students, and academics to exchange knowledge and discuss pressing issues and future directions in the field of biomedical science.
The conference served as an important platform for presenting innovative research, fostering critical thinking, and strengthening international academic collaboration. Participants included students from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and International Higher School of Medicine, highlighting the global and interdisciplinary nature of the event.
As part of the conference program, a competition for the best research work was held. The winners were 4th-year CISM students Anshul Yadav and Vishesh Tiwari, who demonstrated outstanding scientific contribution and research excellence.
Anshul Yadav was recognized for the work “Olfactory Training as a Non-Pharmacological Approach to Maintaining Cognitive Function in Older Adults with Subjective Cognitive Decline: A Pilot Study.” Vishesh Tiwari was awarded for the research titled “Challenges of Drug Delivery Across the Blood–Brain Barrier in Hunter Syndrome.” Both projects were conducted under the guidance of the CISM faculty.
The conference reaffirmed CISM’s commitment to supporting student-led research initiatives, encouraging scientific inquiry, and promoting excellence in biomedical education and innovation.
